Digital Health App

What is it?

SPOON designed Count Me In specifically for service providers who support children with disabilities or children without family care. Count Me In supports children’s health during critical developmental periods by assisting service providers to:

  • identify risk of disability,
  • track children’s growth,
  • monitor anemia status, and
  • detect feeding challenges.

How does it work?

Count Me In interprets health concerns and suggests interventions, indicating when referrals are needed. It tracks children over time and generates individualized care plans for each child that are always up to date and tailored to any malnutrition or unsafe feeding practices it identifies. Service providers can then support caregivers and parents to safely feed and nourish their children. Count Me In provides contextualized content ranging from specialized feeding techniques, to responsive feeding, to ways to ensure an iron-rich diet, so parents can support their children at home.

Count Me In also powers advocacy

Count Me In’s reporting features assist with decision-making and clinical care. The data Count Me In collects illuminate the prevalence of malnutrition and feeding difficulties for a population of children that are historically underrepresented. It can show the connections between disability, feeding difficulties, and poor growth. It makes a persuasive case for policy and funding decisions for children with disabilities and children in residential care, whether through the built-in reports in the app or through the analysis it enables through downloadable datasets.
